KEY DELIVERABLES

A dated appearance, lack of facilities and rise in health and safety issues meant AXA’s Suffolk House was in urgent need of refurbishment. We worked with the client team to carry out a multi-phase refurbishment and fit out, giving the 1,100 employees at the site a fresher, safer and more productive working environment.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective was to make the space more efficient, increasing the building capacity by 8-12% and giving teams a more productive environment. It would allow the client to consolidate Suffolk House, dependent on future growth plans, as well as minimise health and safety risks for employees. The offices also offered limited opportunities for collaborative working.

The site itself comprised nine office floors. It was located in the centre of Ipswich and was to remain occupied during the refurbishment work. As well as managing the change and limiting disruption, we also needed to work to a tight budget, using creative solutions to deliver a high-quality refurbishment for minimum spend.
