Commercial Manager – Fastrack

REPORTING TO:              Project Director

HOURS OF WORK:          Nominal 40 hours per week

LOCATION:                       Principally Leeds office (opening Summer 2018) with ability to commute to Sheffield and Nottingham office once a week.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:        

We are looking to recruit a Commercial Manager is to provide commercial expertise and be responsible for the financial delivery of one or a number of projects to ensure that projects are procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers’ expectations.  To manage commercial activities with a high degree of acumen whilst identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process. In doing so you will price selected trades from first principles using agreed outputs. You will also be able to produce a detailed control document at handover to delivery team and complete projects take offs to the required level of detail.

You will accurately value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract. Ensure that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date, taking full responsibility for the project’s cash position. Complete reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profit projection.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES ALSO INCLUDE:

  • Successful procurement

Architectural Technician

REPORTING TO:              Architectural Design Manager

HOURS OF WORK:          Nominal 40 hours per week

LOCATION:                       Birmingham

PURPOSE OF ROLE: 

You will be working within a small technical team on exciting interiors development projects. Reporting to the architectural design manager you will be working on predominantly technical designs, tender packages and construction drawings.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To take ownership of projects from concept design stage through to completion on site
  • Assess projects on an individual basis and prepare and produce required technical drawings and documents to align with cost plans and strategies whilst providing a high level of protection to the design intent
  • To work collaboratively within a team of construction delivery professionals to maintain progress on tight programs and produce complex environments
  • Preparing drawings for obtaining planning permission
  • Preparing drawings for construction using Autocad
  • Surveying buildings
  • Liaising with planners, building control and construction teams
  • Ensure consistent quality when producing or updating drawings
  • Keep up to date with design trends and techniques
  • To carry out any other duties within the scope of the post

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

  • Degree qualified and CIAT registered
  • Competence in Revit and Autocad
  • An analytical mind with a strong problem-solving ability to take the lead on drawing production

  • A strong interest in architecture and interior design, with an excellent eye for detail

Commercial Pitch Designer
(Mid-Senior Level)

REPORTING TO:              Senior Designer

HOURS OF WORK:          Nominal 40 hour working week

LOCATION:                       Nottingham / Birmingham

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

For us to continue to support our clients to the highest standard we are looking to recruit a mid to senior level commercial pitch designer to join our team in Birmingham.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Senior Designer the candidate will be required to produce and present creative interior design proposals for market leading brands and businesses mainly within the workplace market, to include:

  • Strong pitch, presentation and design sales approach
  • Creative and innovative approach to concept design and ability to articulate this to the project teams and clients
  • Preparing and developing design presentations and proposals for clients (under the direction of the senior designer)
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations and standards connected with the workplace and commercial interior design
  • Proven ability of working within determined budgets with good commercial understanding of FF+E
  • The ability to see projects through from inception to production
  • To carry out any other duties within the scope of the post

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

  • Degree in interior design or architecture
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience interior and architectural design with essential proven experience in workplace design
  • Strong sketching and visualization skills
  • Strong knowledge for materiality
  • FF&E specification skills/ knowledge (essential)

  • Preparing and developing design presentations and proposals for clients (under the direction of a senior designer)
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations and standards connected with the workplace and commercial interior design
  • Proven ability of working within determined budgets with good commercial understanding of FF+E
  • The ability to see projects through from inception to production.
  • Contribute creative ideas, an understanding of typography, good layout skills and attention to detail a must. Some knowledge of print production and materials, prepping artwork files to print standard.
  • Providing consistency regardless of project size
